Purpose

About

The American Physician Scientists Association (APSA) Northeast Regional Meeting 2025, hosted by Stony Brook University, is a pivotal gathering for physician-scientists at all stages of training. With the theme "Mentoring minds for tomorrow's discoveries," this conference aims to address the unique challenges faced by physician-scientists and foster a supportive community for career development.

us-apsa-map

Our key objectives are:

  1. Foster a regional community of physician-scientists across training stages and career paths.
  2. Increase diversity in the physician-scientist trainee pipeline and address factors contributing to attrition.
  3. Empower trainees to become change agents by improving communication skills.

Through keynote speeches, panel discussions, roundtables, and networking opportunities, attendees will gain valuable insights into the physician-scientist career path and build connections that will shape the future of translational research.

Target Audience

This conference is designed for:

We particularly encourage attendance from individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those underrepresented in medicine and biomedical research.

Registration, Abstract Selection, and Travel Awards

To register, fill out the appropriate form based on your training stage. To be considered for poster or oral (flash talk) presentations, an abstract needs to be submitted on a seperate Google Form. Finally, to help offset travel expenses, we will be distributing travel awards to trainees.

Please note, the overall registration deadline is March 22, 2025, but for abstract and/or travel award consideration, you must register AND complete the appropriate Google Forms by February 14, 2025 so we can send a decision by February 27, 2025.
