Purpose

About

The American Physician Scientists Association (APSA) West Regional Meeting will take place on Saturday April 4th, 2026, at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon. This meeting provides opportunities for networking and mentorship among students from different institutions and training levels, in addition to engagement with established physician-scientists. The program will feature discussions on basic science and clinical research, pioneering new treatments, translating basic scientific advances from bench to bedside, and the role of the physician-scientist in global health. Attendees will have the opportunity to present and learn about cutting-edge research across a wide range of biomedical fields, including immunology, cancer biology, bioengineering, and neuroscience. This meeting includes a poster session, oral presentations, focused panel discussions led by physician scientists, industry leaders, residents, and program directors. We will have two keynote presentations given by Dr. David Huang, MD/PhD and co-inventor of Optical Coherence Tomography, and Dr. Nathan Selden, MD/PhD, neurosurgeon, and Dean of the OHSU School of Medicine.
